xenophobie

an interesting situation. xenophobia exists almost everywhere. in france the situation has developed into a problem. my pet theory is that as france is an employment state, without the entrepreneurial ethic (see URSAFF website, and you get an idea of the level of "encouragement" for paddling your own kayak) which is prevalent elsewhere, people are dependent on getting a job. add to this the high level unemployment, the absence of positive discrimination, and the "piston" method of finding work through connections and you get a sort of undesireable set of parameters which stop minorities from getting jobs. this creates friction, and reinforces stereotypes. vicious circle.
