sex

my uncle's idea of a french film is called "un homme et un pomme (sic)" and involves lots of moodiness and not much action. for me the f'nch cinema industry is a theme and variations on willies and fannies getting together. when i came to france i simply assumed that f'nch folk spend their lives doing each other, eating, talking, smoking, arguing, sulking, fighting and then doing each other all over again, but in different combinations.
i thought france was just a huge porn film with large gaps for eating, talking (see list above)...
maybe it is, but if i bought it on dvd from a shop, i'd take it back and ask for my money back.
but it has been known to come up in conversation.
all talk, less action.
